Operations intelligence dashboard for multi-state operators and cannabis executives

Command Center Guide

The Command Center is Formul8's operations intelligence dashboard, designed for multi-state operators (MSOs) and cannabis executives who need real-time visibility across facilities, states, and business units.

Who Is the Command Center For?

The Command Center is designed for:

  • MSO executives who need a single-pane view across multiple states and facilities
  • Operations directors tracking production throughput, compliance status, and cash conversion
  • Finance teams monitoring revenue metrics and cost efficiency
  • Regional managers overseeing multiple facilities within a state

If you operate a single facility, the Metrc Dashboard may be more appropriate. The Command Center is built for organizations that need to compare and aggregate data across multiple locations.

Signing In

  1. Navigate to command-center.formul8.ai
  2. Sign in with your Google account (the same account used across all Formul8 products)
  3. The dashboard loads with data from your organization's connected facilities

The initial dashboard view shows the Six Weekly Numbers panel at the top, with drill-down navigation below and an organization selector in the top bar.

The Six Weekly Numbers

The centerpiece of the Command Center is the Six Weekly Numbers — a set of KPIs that provide a complete picture of your cannabis operation's health. These numbers are designed to be reviewed weekly by leadership teams.

KPIWhat It MeasuresWhy It Matters
RevenueTotal revenue across all facilities for the periodTop-line business health
Units SoldTotal units moved through point-of-saleVolume indicator independent of pricing
Inventory TurnsRate at which inventory cycles through the operationCapital efficiency — slow turns tie up cash
Compliance ScoreAggregate compliance status across facilitiesRisk exposure — a low score means audit risk
Production YieldOutput relative to input across cultivation and processingOperational efficiency
Cash ConversionTime from harvest to cash in handThe full Farm-to-Cash cycle duration
Waste PercentageProduct lost to waste, destruction, or quality failuresOperational loss indicator

Each KPI shows the current value, trend (week-over-week), and a comparison to your target or benchmark.

Each KPI card displays the current value, a week-over-week trend arrow (green up, red down), a sparkline chart showing the past 8 weeks, and a status indicator (on-target, warning, or critical).

Drill-Down Views

Below the KPI panel, you can drill into specific dimensions:

ViewWhat You See
By StateKPIs broken down by state — compare performance across your geographic footprint
By FacilityFacility-level detail — identify top and bottom performers
By ProductProduct category analysis — which categories drive revenue, which have waste issues
TimelineHistorical trends for any KPI — spot seasonal patterns and long-term trajectories

The state-level drill-down shows KPI cards grouped by state, with aggregate values and contribution percentages for each location.

Multi-Site Operations

The Command Center aggregates data across all your connected facilities. This is particularly valuable for MSOs managing operations in multiple states.

State View

The State view groups facilities by state and provides:

  • Aggregate KPIs per state
  • Compliance status summary (important since regulations differ by state)
  • Revenue and volume contribution percentages
  • Alerts and exceptions per state

Facility View

The Facility view shows individual facility performance:

  • All six KPIs at the facility level
  • Comparison against organization averages
  • Facility-specific alerts and compliance issues
  • Staff and production capacity utilization

Cross-Facility Comparison

Compare any two or more facilities side-by-side to identify:

  • Best practices from top-performing facilities
  • Bottlenecks at underperforming locations
  • Staffing or equipment disparities
  • Compliance risk concentrations

The comparison view shows selected facilities in columns with all six KPIs as rows, highlighting differences with color-coded indicators.

Data Import

The Command Center supports CSV import for connecting external data sources. This allows you to bring in data from systems that do not have direct API integrations.

Importing Data

  1. Navigate to the Import section from the main navigation
  2. Select the data type you are importing (sales, inventory, production, financial)
  3. Download the CSV template for that data type
  4. Fill in the template with your data
  5. Upload the completed CSV
  6. Review the preview — the system validates the data and highlights any errors
  7. Confirm the import

Supported Data Types

Data TypeFieldsSource Systems
SalesDate, facility, product, quantity, revenuePOS systems (Dutchie, Treez, Flowhub)
InventoryDate, facility, product, quantity, statusMetrc, BioTrack, inventory management
ProductionDate, facility, batch, input, output, yieldInternal production tracking
FinancialDate, facility, category, amountERP, accounting systems

The import screen provides a data type selector, template download buttons, a drag-and-drop upload area, and a validation preview before confirming the import.

AI Assistance

The Command Center includes an AI chat interface for asking questions about your operational data.

Example questions:

  • "Which facility had the highest waste percentage last month?"
  • "Show me the revenue trend for Colorado over the past quarter"
  • "Why did our compliance score drop this week?"
  • "Compare production yield between Facility A and Facility B"

The AI assistant analyzes your data in context and provides answers with supporting data visualizations.

The AI chat panel opens as a side panel. Responses include natural language analysis with inline data tables and charts drawn from your operational data.

Event Sourcing

The Command Center uses an event-sourced data architecture. This means:

  • Every data point is stored as an immutable event with a timestamp
  • Historical states can be reconstructed at any point in time
  • Changes are never overwritten — new events are appended
  • Complete audit trail for all data modifications

This architecture ensures data integrity and provides a reliable foundation for compliance reporting.

Tips for Using the Command Center

Review the Six Weekly Numbers in your weekly leadership meeting. These KPIs are designed to be a standing agenda item. Print or share the dashboard view with your leadership team.

Set targets for each KPI. The dashboard is most useful when you have benchmarks to compare against. Set targets based on your business plan, industry averages, or historical performance.

Use the drill-down views to investigate anomalies. When a KPI changes unexpectedly, drill from the organization level down to state, facility, and product to find the root cause.

Import data regularly. The Command Center is only as good as its data. Set up a weekly routine for CSV imports from your POS, ERP, and inventory systems.

Troubleshooting

"My data is not showing up after import"

Check the import history in the Import section. If the import had validation errors, some rows may have been skipped. Download the error report to see which rows failed and why.

"The KPIs look wrong"

KPIs are calculated from the data you have imported. If numbers seem off, check:

  • Are all facilities included in the current date range?
  • Was the latest data import successful?
  • Is the date range set to the period you expect?

"I cannot access the Command Center"

The Command Center is available to organizations with active Formul8 subscriptions. If you can access F8Chat but not the Command Center, contact your account administrator to verify access permissions.
