Getting Started with Formul8
This guide walks you through signing up for Formul8, sending your first message, and understanding the tools available to you.
Step 1: Create Your Account
- Navigate to chat.formul8.ai
- Click Sign in with Google to authenticate with your Google account
- Your account is created automatically on first sign-in — no separate registration form required
Click the "Sign in with Google" button to authenticate. No separate registration form is required.
Your account starts on the Free tier, which gives you access to 3 agents with 5 messages per conversation. You can upgrade at any time through the Dashboard.
Step 2: Send Your First Message
Once signed in, you will see the F8Chat interface — a clean chat window with a message input at the bottom.
- Type a question in the message field. For example:
- "What are the THC limits for edibles in Colorado?"
- "Help me formulate a 10mg THC gummy"
- "What extraction methods work best for live resin?"
- Press Enter or click the send button
- Formul8 automatically routes your question to the most appropriate agent and streams the response in real time
The chat interface streams responses in real time. The responding agent's name appears in the response header.
You do not need to select an agent manually. The platform analyzes your question and routes it to the right specialist. The agent's name is shown in the response header so you always know who answered.
Step 3: Try the Web Search Toggle
For questions that need current information — recent regulatory changes, market data, or news — enable the Search toggle.
- Look for the Search toggle in the chat interface (near the message input or in the toolbar)
- Enable it before sending your message
- Formul8 will search the web, retrieve relevant pages, and incorporate the findings into the agent's response
- Sources are cited in the response so you can verify the information
With the Search toggle enabled, the agent retrieves live web results and cites them alongside its built-in knowledge.
Web search is available on agents that support it: Compliance, Formulation, and Patent agents.
Step 4: Explore the Agent Catalog
Formul8 has 13 specialized agents, each with deep expertise in a specific area of the cannabis industry. The agents available to you depend on your subscription tier.
Free and Pro tier agents (3 agents):
- Formul8 General — Business strategy, general questions, multi-topic queries
- Formulation — Product recipes, dosage calculations, ingredient selection, scientific research (also handles science queries)
Operator tier adds (6 agents total):
- Compliance — State-specific regulations, licensing, audit preparation
- Marketing — Brand strategy, campaign planning, market research
- MCR — Master Control Record management, documentation, audit trails
Team tier includes all 13 agents, adding Operations, Sourcing, Patent, Spectra, Customer Success, Ad, and Editor.

Step 5: Explore the Future4200 Knowledge Base
Every Formul8 user — including Free tier — has access to the Future4200 knowledge base. This is a searchable collection of 7,061 threads from the Future4200.com community forum, covering extraction techniques, equipment reviews, troubleshooting, and cannabis science.
When you ask a question in F8Chat, relevant Future4200 threads are automatically retrieved and cited in the response. You do not need to do anything special to activate this — it is built into the agent responses.
Example questions that leverage Future4200 knowledge:
- "What's the best way to winterize crude ethanol extract?"
- "How do I troubleshoot a vacuum oven that won't hold pressure?"
- "What rosin press temperature and pressure should I use for flower rosin?"
Step 6: Visit the Dashboard
Your account management happens at users.formul8.ai.
- Navigate to users.formul8.ai and sign in with the same Google account
- From the Dashboard, you can:
- View your current subscription tier and usage
- Manage your organization and team members
- Upgrade or downgrade your plan
- View billing history and download invoices
- Track your token usage over time
The Dashboard shows your current tier, usage summary, organization members, and billing status.
Step 7: Understand Your Tier
Your subscription tier determines which agents you can access, how many messages you can send, and whether ads are shown in responses.

Step 8: Upgrade When Ready
When you are ready for more agents, more capacity, or compliance tools:
- Go to users.formul8.ai
- Navigate to Subscription or Billing
- Select the tier that fits your needs
- Complete checkout via Stripe (credit card or invoice)
- Your new tier takes effect immediately — agents and features unlock within seconds
Tips for Getting the Most Out of Formul8
Be specific about your state. Compliance rules vary dramatically by state. Mention your state in your question (e.g., "Colorado edible packaging requirements") and the Compliance Agent will tailor its response.
Use follow-up questions. Agents retain conversation context within a session. After getting an answer, ask follow-up questions to drill deeper — you do not need to repeat background information.
Enable Search for current events. Regulations change frequently. If you need the most current information, enable the Search toggle so the agent can pull from live web sources.
Try different question styles. Agents respond to natural language. You can ask broad strategic questions ("How should I structure my Colorado cultivation SOP?") or precise technical ones ("What is the decarboxylation temperature curve for THCA in a vacuum oven?").
Report issues with the feedback button. If you receive an inaccurate response, use the in-chat feedback button. This creates a tracked issue that the Formul8 team reviews.
